Who is Ruth Altshuler: Ruth Altshuler was a pillar of charitable and civic efforts in Dallas who passed away in December, 2017 at the age of 93.  Through her decades of philanthropic work, she raised millions for area charities. Upon her death, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said, "What she did for this city can never be fully comprehended," and called her, "one of the strongest people in Dallas' history."  Among her countless impactful efforts was hosting a Holiday Food Drive in her driveway in Dallas’ Preston Hollow neighborhood. She began this tradition in the 1980s, and it became known throughout town year after year!
